Sophie Reverdi: Head of the Smart and Light Coaching program
After obtaining her baccalaureate in Philosophy at the Molière school in Paris, Sophie studied literature and linguistics at the Sorbonne. She also earned a diploma in International Trade from the Higher Institute of Management Studies in 1985, then a Master's degree in Hospital Management in 1988 from the International Center of Glion Montreux in Switzerland, a diploma recognized by Cornell University. Her first professional experience was at the American Hospital of Neuilly in Paris where she worked as the F&B Manager’s assistant (Food & Beverage Department).
She was in charge of the redevelopment of production sites in accordance with American hygiene standards, as well as the writing a complete guide of perishable foods to be used by the chefs and the nutritionists of the hospital. She was also committed to the design of new types of menus characterized by more variety and possible choice for patients while reconciling between their treatments and their medical limitations. She established in this same hospital a gourmet restaurant for patients, families and medical staff.
In 1999, Sophie REVERDI designed and installed a gourmet restaurant in Brussels named “The Dining Room”. The chef of this French specialty restaurant was Jean Michel CARON, a former chef of Prime Ministers Fabius, Mauroy, and Chirac at Matignon. The customers of this restaurant were ambassadors, ministers of the European community, and lawyers. It was also ranked as the best restaurant in Brussels by Gault and Millau.
Sophie worked in Europe after that as the representative of NSA International, a major American group in the sectors of health and environment, where she had to manage and coordinate a network of 700 distributors across Europe. Sophie was promoted to the post of Europe’s coordinator of sales, and her achievements earned her the title of “Founding member of the NSA club leaders” in October 1995 in Memphis Tennessee.
One of Sophie’s most decisive professional experiences was that she has recently directed a short film that was selected in many film festivals (Cannes, Barri / Imaginaria, Paris/ Pocket Film Festival). The short film revolves around the theme of self-image and the pain that might be caused by a false idea that one has of one’s own vision. But it is primarily a real message of hope and of the absolute certainty of the magisterial power of humans to reframe their thinking modes and their ability to control the circumstances of their lives if they respect themselves and discover in their inner truths who they really are.
Sophie Reverdi has lived in Tunisia since three and a half years, and has taken care of 300 people on the Tunisian territory.
The customized coaching is paying off, and the program results are stunning.
Smart and Light has become quite known thanks to the support of doctors who have validated this program, as well as that of the ministries, but mainly thanks to the immense satisfaction of those who followed the program. But it is Tunisia, the pioneer in medical tourism, which has allowed the concept to emerge and to go on.
The project now seems to be of interest to some European countries. During his visit in May 2009, Nicolas Sarkozy has promised to include the Smart and Light project as part of the Union for the Mediterranean.
This visionary project saves lives every day, and it is high time we made it accessible to as many people as possible.
The next step, which was mentioned in last Tunisian-French Economic Forum UTICA-MEDEF, with Prime Minister François Fillon, would be to establish a partnership with the French social security funds, and to consider supporting people who are handicapped by their weight on the Tunisian territory for short stays at lower costs which is more profitable than a long stays in a hospital setting.
